The Levoni story began in 1911, when Ezechiello Levoni rented a production facility in Precotto (MI), applying experience he had acquired working in his cousin’s shop since age 13.  In 1913, Levoni products won the gold medal at the Modern Art Industry exposition in London, making the Levoni name synonymous with quality.

In 1923, Levoni acquired the facility at Castellucchio (MN), which remains the corporate headquarters to this day.  Currently his facility produces salami, cooked ham, mortadella, speck, cotechini and zamponi, neck end, bacon and all the various specialities of the Levoni name.

Family management has always been a central idea of the Levoni enterprise from the very beginning. In the 1930's, Ezechiello brought aboard his three sons: Aldo, Lino and Leandro. They in turn transformed the small salami factory into an industrial enterprise, thanks to careful attention to the highest quality standards, and an efficient business ethos. In 1962, the Prosciutto Facility at Volta Mantovana was built, where Prosciutti dei Colli Morenici are cured.

In the 1960's and 1970's, a third generation of Levonis, Paolo, Mario and Ezechiello, took over the burgeoning business. In 1975, the slaughterhouse Mec-Carni was built in order to maximize production and to have farther-reaching control over product. Imperative to the Levoni strategy was the attention the family paid to its customers. Their business transactions often matured into relationships lasting for generations. 

 In the1980's and 1990's the company's expansion continued with the construction of the prosciutto facility at Lesignano de’ Bagni (PR), for the production of Prosciutto di Parma, and the acquisition of the prosciutto facility Canossa; of San Daniele del Friuli (UD), for the production of Prosciutti di San Daniele.

Today, Levoni Spa has a great range of high quality products as well as a very extensive sales network, which serves the best national and international customers.
